Wet Film Gauges Rule!!!!

Square foot coverage/gallon is not listed on most of the Proceed product labels because of the fact that technique will determine coverage rate and Proceed products can be utilized in many different types of techniques and thicknesses.

The Golden technical team has been asked “how can I estimate coverage rate with every technique I develop?”

There are a number of ways to do this but the simplest would be to utilize a Wet Film Gauge. Pick one up at most contractor stores, the directions on how to read and use the gauge is written directly on the gauge and the store staff could always show how it’s done.

All readings have to be taken after each step and while the paint is still wet. The easy to follow instructions printed on these gauges read,

"Press the gauge into the wet coating. Withdraw vertically and note deepest tooth having paint on it and the next higher tooth that is not coated with paint. The true wet film thickness lies between these two readings. Clean gauge in suitable solvent after each use."

After you get a handle on how to use the gauge, the sentiment will be shared: "wet film gauges rule!"

Simply take the reading of the mil thickness and refer to the following chart:

Note that the coverage rates will apply to any wet product, not just Proceed.
